Product Description

EDDHA chelated iron is the product with the strongest chelating ability, the most stable and the best adaptability to the soil environment among all iron fertilizers currently on the market. It can be used in acidic to alkaline (PH4-10) environments.  There are two types of EDDHA chelated iron, powder and granules, the powder dissolves quickly and can be used as a page spray. Granules can be sprinkled on the roots of plants and slowly penetrate into the soil.

EDDHA, is a chelate that protects nutrients against precipitation in a wide pH-range: 4-10, which is higher than EDTA and DTPA in pH range. This makes the EDDHA-chelates suitable for alkaline and calcareous soils. In soil application, EDDHA are the preferable chelating agents for ensuring iron availability in alkaline soils.

The micronutrients are fully chelated and completely soluble in water. Some of them can be applied directly to the soil for root uptake, others via foliar sprays. They are compatible with a wide range of fertilizers and pesticides. Some are also eminently suited for use in soilless cultures (hydroponics), as there is no formation of precipitates within the active pH ranges. The most effective method of application will depend on location conditions, particularly the pH value of the soil or growth medium.

Chelated micronutrients are most commonly applied in solution with liquid fertilizers and/or pesticides. However, micronutrients can also be applied alone.

Chelated micronutrients are often more effective than trace elements from inorganic sources. This may be largely because chelates not only guarantee the availability of micronutrients, but also facilitate absorption of the trace elements by the leaves.

The EC value (Electrical Conductivity) is important for foliar feed products: the lower the EC, the less the chance of leaf scorching.

Product Information

The meaning of iron:

Iron is an essential micronutrient required for various physiological processes in plants, including chlorophyll synthesis, photosynthesis, and enzymatic reactions. Its deficiency often results in reduced growth, yellowing of leaves (chlorosis), and overall reduced plant health. Plants often struggle to meet their iron needs due to poor iron availability in the soil. This is where iron chelates such as EDDHA Fe 6% come into play.

EDDHA Fe 6% Introduction:

EDDHA Fe 6% represents ethylenediamine-N,N'-bis(2-hydroxyphenylacetic acid) iron complex. It is a highly efficient water-soluble iron chelate commonly used in agriculture to supplement iron deficiencies in plants. As an iron chelate, EDDHA Fe 6% keeps iron in a stable, water-soluble form that is easily absorbed by roots, even in alkaline and calcareous soils.

Advantages of EDDHA Fe 6%:

1. Enhanced nutrient absorption: EDDHA Fe 6% ensures that plants obtain iron in a form that is easily absorbed by the roots. This improves iron absorption and utilization, ultimately enhancing plant growth, chlorophyll production and overall crop yield.

2. Best Performance in Alkaline Soils: Unlike other iron chelates, EDDHA Fe 6% remains stable and effective even in highly alkaline or calcareous soils with limited iron availability. It has a high affinity for iron and can form strong bonds with iron, preventing iron precipitation and making it easily absorbed by plants.

3. Durability and Persistence: EDDHA Fe 6% is known for its persistence in the soil, ensuring a longer-lasting supply of iron to plants. This reduces the frequency of iron applications and provides a continuous source of iron throughout the vegetative growth phase, resulting in healthier, more robust crops.

4. Environmentally friendly: EDDHA Fe 6% is an environmentally responsible iron chelate. It remains in the soil and is less likely to leach out or cause excessive iron accumulation, mitigating any potential harm to groundwater resources.

EDDHA Fe 6% Application Recommendations:

In order to maximize the benefits of EDDHA Fe 6%, some application guidelines must be followed:

1. Soil pretreatment: Before plant growth, incorporate EDDHA Fe 6% into the soil to ensure that emerging plants receive sufficient iron. This step is especially important in alkaline soils where iron availability is often limited.

2. Correct dosage: Follow the recommended dosage provided by the manufacturer to avoid under- or over-application. Proper dosage depends on soil conditions, plant needs and severity of iron deficiency symptoms.

3. Timing and Frequency: Apply EDDHA Fe 6% during critical stages of plant growth (such as early vegetative growth or before flowering) to support optimal iron absorption. If necessary, consider multiple applications throughout the growing season based on crop needs and soil conditions.

In conclusion:

EDDHA Fe 6% has proven to be a highly effective iron chelate, improving iron availability to plants, especially in alkaline and calcareous soils. Its exceptional versatility, stability and gradual release make it a top choice for farmers looking to maximize crop yields. By addressing iron deficiency challenges, EDDHA Fe 6% enables agricultural systems to meet the growing demand for high quality and abundant food production while ensuring the sustainability of our environment.
